Blanket Jacket - Andrew Stewart Mohair Coat

This is a one-of-a-kind blanket jacket made from an upcycled vintage Andrew Stewart red and blue plaid mohair blanket. For a finished look the jacket design includes a basic collared neckline with a peek-a-boo ribbon sewn along the inside, two outside pockets, and an open closure. One size fits most and to complete the design the hem of the jacket and sleeves have the original fringe of the blanket.

This vintage mohair blanket was made by Andrew Stewart and is an exquisite example of a Scottish Mohair textile. The soft mohair wool appears to be curly and is woven in a red and blue plaid design with fringed edges. The tag reads, "Mohair Handwoven in Scotland by Andrew Stewart". Additional tag reads "This is a Genuine Clan Tartan - Robertson". The blanket was in great vintage condition and dry cleaned prior to redesigning into a jacket.
