Vintage Quilted Jacket - Cathedral Windows
Vintage Quilted Jacket - Cathedral Windows
This is a one-of-a-kind quilted jacket made from a vintage quilt. This coat was created using a vintage machine-stitched quilt covered in floral blocks in a Cathedral Windows pattern using cotton fabric. For a finished look, the top was machine quilted using a custom quilting pattern on a natural colored backing.
A basic jacket design with two front pockets, finished off with a neckline that can be a standup neckline or a collared neckline, and zippered closure. One size fits most and sleeves can be rolled up for a comfy look. These jackets are like wearing a hug – this is a piece of history, and you can add to its story.
The first documentation of the use of the cathedral window in a quilt appeared at the Chicago World's Fair in the US in 1933. The technique quickly became popular in North America in the 1930s.
