Vintage Quilt - Hand-Quilted Lone Star
Vintage Quilt - Hand-Quilted Lone Star
This 62- by 62-inch quilt is a hand-pieced and hand-quilted vintage quilt made from various cotton fabrics and patterns (circa 1950s). The complicated work for the Lone Star was meticulously hand-sewn and placed in a beautiful burst of pastel colors. Original binding was a little rough; I replaced the binding to maintain the beauty of the quilt.
Working to preserve vintage quilts not only honors the craftsmanship of the past but also gives new life to these pieces of art. Quilts are soaked and washed, there may be some aging spots that adds to the charm. A piece of history, and you can add to its story. of this beautiful and sweet quilt.
The Lone Star quilt pattern is made up of six to eight points and includes squares and half-square triangles. The Lone Star quilt block is one of the oldest and most recognizable American quilt patterns. Extremely popular with Native American and Amish and throughout the South, the pattern was named by Texas quilters – its name a tribute to the Lone Star State.
Ready to ship. The quilt in the picture will be the quilt you receive, each quilt is handmade, so they are all unique - no two are alike. Additionally, with handmade items there is always an element of human error, whether it be a missed stitch or overlapping design, yet for me the beauty is in the imperfection.ke.
